Desireé Banlowe and Diligent Bookkeeping Services
I began my career in 1993 with Dumaine Insurance Services, a start-up Managing General Agency. At its peak, the Agency reached an annual premium level of nearly $10,000,000. In time, I became the Executive Vice President and was in charge of all of the accounting functions for the company. The Agency closed in 2006 when the owner decided to retire.
From 2006 to 2010, I worked as an independent contractor performing bookkeeping services for a number of clients. In February of 2010, I received an offer for a full time position with Input 1, LLC, a Premium Finance Company, which was too good for me to turn down. I took this job, but still maintained a couple of bookkeeping clients.
By May 2013, I realized that the confines of corporate employment were not for me and the one thing I really wanted to do was work for myself. So with the understanding and support of my husband, I established Diligent Bookkeeping Services. I felt there was a need to offer my bookkeeping services as an independent contractor for small businesses. I also believed there were Insurance Agents who greatly needed bookkeeping assistance and simply could not afford to hire a full time employee to handle their financial needs.
Soon, through word of mouth and referrals, I established several clients. The work is more than rewarding and I truly love what I am doing. While I have certainly found my niche in the Insurance Industry, I have also established a variety of clients in several different industries. While insurance bookkeeping is my area of expertise, I am more than capable of performing bookkeeping functions for an array of businesses.
When I am not in the office, my spare time is spent playing and competing as an amateur in golf tournaments at a high level. I have been playing the game of golf since the age of four and maintain a 3 handicap.
On numerous occasions, I have been given several years of bank and credit card statements, deposits, cancelled checks, receipts (along with policy data for insurance clients) and have had to enter all of the transactions into QuickBooks to re-create data for both financial and tax purposes. No job is too large for me to handle. I work quickly as well as efficiently and I always pay attention to the details. I am confident I can get any business organized and in good financial order.
The majority of my bookkeeping services are performed from my Thousand Oaks office, which is located in Ventura County, California. Typically, my clients prefer that I maintain their QuickBooks file on my company computer. However, I do have the ability to access your office computer remotely to work on your QuickBooks file if you choose. I can also come to your office to work on your books if you are within 25 miles of my office.
